OurGroceries App

UPDATE : My husband has installed this on his iPhone and I have it on my Droid. It truly does sync between OS platforms. Woo Hoo!!! 🙂

OurGroceries_iPhone
OurGroceries_Android My husband and I decided that we are going to give this app a try. He has an iPhone and I have a Droid. This app is supposed to synch your lists automatically between those you’ve shared your lists with. This will come in very handy indeed if it truly works across OS platforms.

My husband and I shop together separately. We walk in to the grocery shop and each get a cart and then go our separate ways. When we have finished our shopping we meet at the checkout and pay for everything together. If this app does what we hope it will do, then we can have one list between us. We will be able to see what items are still on the list and which ones have been checked off. No more having to call and ask, “Did you remember to pick up …?” Sometimes we both have the same item on our lists so that at least one of us will remember to pick it up.

This app also has a feature for recipes. You can enter your list of ingredients and then mark them off as you collect them. Kind of a cool feature I think.

This is a free app as long as don’t mind the ads. If you want to purchase the option without the ads, it will run you a whopping $4.99. The ads are not intrusive in my view so I will put up with them.

Let me know if you try this and how it works for you. If you use something else, let me know as well so we can share. 🙂

Now THIS is one worthwhile app to check out! HOw did you get your husband to agree to also use it? Thanks.

Believe it or not he brought it to my attention and wanted us to try it. We both now have it installed and have been 'playing' with it. It truly does sync across OS platforms. Woo Hoo!!! 🙂

This looks cool. I will need to check this out. We currently use our notes on our iPhones and sync phone to phone. This may be even better.

We have been 'playing' around with this today and the sync is really good and fast. No more having to wait for me to get an iPhone later this year. This app works great! 🙂

This does sound handy. We usually text each other with the forgotten items on our list but this could be an ongoing relationship! By the way, thanks for the volunteer clipboard tip, it's awesome.

So glad you found that app helpful! My husband and I have been busy setting this grocery app up and learning how to use it and how everything works. So far we like it. 🙂

  4. That's really a convenient app, Cheryl. Can't help thinking that in the future our brain can go on holidays and our apps will do everything for us:-)

Not sure what the future holds but I do not know that it was not all that long ago that you and I would not be communicating via a blog – there was no such thing. 🙂

Oh yeah, I can see this being extremely useful. I'm gonna try this one too. BTW, I mentioned you in my latest post. Hope you come check it out and see my new digs. 🙂 It's the post titled Fitness Creep. 🙂

I just went to your new site and left you a couple of comments. I had no idea it was up & running. I kept your old email so I could find your page easily. Unfortunately I now get an error. 🙁 Anyway, LOVE your new site. Huge congrats! And I appreciate the shout out. 🙂 Now don't waste any time and get me an email subscribe so I don't miss anything. 🙂

  6. projectwhitespace says:

I will work on that email subscription later today!! Thanks for visiting!

    • Geek Girl says:

I bookmarked your page until you get the email subscription going. 🙂

Wow, you two are the most efficient shoppers ever! I like this idea because I want to spend as little time in the store as possible… I'll propose it to the boss 🙂

    • Geek Girl says:

Interestingly enough neither of us are shoppers either. We go in, collect the things we want/need, get out quickly. It works well for us. We have been doing this for years now. 🙂

Hi! I'm trying to use ourgroceries with my husband he has a blackberry I have an andriod. We both downloaded and he shared the list with me but they don't sync. I noticed that my app does not show up the settings like his does. I just have the lists and that's it. I installed and uninstalled a couple of times but it's still the same…any ideas?

    • Adela says:

Oh I read now that we both have to share the lsit, but if I can't get my settings to show up in the app then I won't be able to share! 🙁
