“All is not quite as it seems. It’s better.”
By: Me
This quote is by me this week. I have a treat for you today.
When my husband and I moved back to this house we decided to upgrade the refrigerator. This house has a very small kitchen. I mean small as in 2 people standing in it at one time would be crowded. Seriously… We knew that they had to get the appliances in the kitchen some way or there wouldn’t be any in it now.
So we ordered the new refrigerator and they came to install it. The two men looked the situation over, and over again. They looked at the front entrance. They looked at the back entrance. The got out the measuring tape and measured everything. They appeared to have a plan of action. They had to remove the old refrigerator first. This involved taking it apart. I cringed as I nervously watched. What if they couldn’t get the new one in? We would have nothing. Was this a mistake? What have we done? It all went through my mind…
Once the old refrigerator had been gutted and removed, they then focused on the new one. They had to take it apart as well, although not in the same way. Thank God…
Long story shortened considerably, we now had a working refrigerator installed.
Here we are many weeks later and I still wonder about the finish. It feels odd to me. I have been cleaning it faithfully. Today it was different. I noticed what looked like a blemish in the finish. It did not wash off. I am fearful of making it worse so I leave it until I can get my husband to look at it with me. Together we begin to examine it more closely. That’s when we notice that it is the plastic shielding that they put on appliances to keep them from getting damaged before they are installed. OMG!!! All this time and we had not removed the protective sheeting!
Yes. You have permission to laugh. I would laugh at me too! LOL I thought everyone could use a good laugh to start the week with. π

ROTFL, that really made my day. Thank you for that. π
Sometimes you just have to laugh! LOL
I've done that a couple of times as well in regards to not removing plastic sheeting, though never on something as large as a fridge!
Thanks Jeri. That makes me feel so much better. NOT LOL π
It is amazing how they manage together appliances into such small spaces. Getting into my basement is a very tight squeeze, but we have managed to get two fridges and an upright freezer down my stairs. To look at it it would seem impossible.
Impossible seems like a very appropriate word. π
You are not alone about the plastic Cheryl. I just discovered yesterday there is still plastic on a part of my laptop that I bought months ago. It is good the guys worked out a way to get the fridges in and out.
I guess we can laugh together then. π
