Motivational Monday – 12/3
“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.”
By: Denis Waitley
Here we are in the last month of 2012 and I find myself looking ahead to 2013. I have been busy creating a calendar for my blog. I have never used a calendar for planning my blog posts, but I am going to in 2013. In reality it is not a calendar but a spreadsheet. The point is that it will provide guidance for planning ahead. Like most of you I have a day job. I plan my schedule to meet the demands of that job. So I am taking a page out of that play book and making it work for my blog. Yeah, I don’t know why I did not do this before either.
So why am I bringing this up again? Today’s quote. I choose to take responsibility to make the needed changes to make my blog even more successful in 2013.
Anybody with me? What changes are you planning to make, if any, for 2013?

Excellent quote in looking forward. Responsibility is such a great word actually as it gives you both permission, takes out the ugly word, blame, and also puts you in control. I too would like to have a more cohesive plan for my blog but at the same time allow for spontaneity – and life! Thanks Cherryl. Another great start to the week.
Seems like many are making 2013 plans. This quote just seemed fitting. 🙂
Love the quote and it's so apropo to what we are all looking too for next year. I applaud you for working on a blog calendar for next year. It really has helped me to stay on task with my blog. I know you will find it very helpful next year. 🙂
Yeah, so far so good. I think a calendar will take a lot of the stress out of the whole blogging process.
I plan to make use of spreadsheets much more in the year to come. For now though, I think I'll stick to planning my blog posts on my big desk calendar. Year one of blogging has taken me down many unforeseen paths, but the one thing I hit the ground running with was the ability to plan and schedule posts. Thank goodness all that lesson plan writing experience is still coming in handy 😉
I can very well see how lesson planning would translate to blog planning. 🙂
Well said Cheryl and apart from taking responsibility your calendar to me is an example of keeping it simple. Just by planning your posts will make writing your posts a lot less complicated.
Good point. Thanks!
Agree with all of you that it's a great quote and that your idea to planning your blog posts is great..
Thanks! 🙂
Sounds like a sound plan. Mind if I copy you on that?
You most certainly can copy me. 🙂 Sharing is what it's all about.
Definitely with you… I am just hoping to find the energy to do it. 🙂
I have no doubt you can do it. 🙂
Can I just say that I love you?! I love that you are doing this and that you have this beautiful, firm and resolute stance about it. I am doing this too–I think Gina has inspired both of us-or at least me. 🙂 And then you doubled up with her and so now I have to do this. But my blog and me will be better for it!
I love you too Bethany. Both you and Gina have inspired me to make changes. I know I will be the better for making them, and by extension my blog will benefit.
Dang quote, just let me be lazy and not take responsibility! Looking forward to hearing how the calendar works…
LOL Now now… lazy is a 4 letter word you know. 🙂
Brilliant quote! I'm always trying to be more organized. While I think it's great to have a schedule, I also like to be able to respond to what's in the news, which is impossible to plan. So I have a loose schedule, with allowances for spontaneity. But – I think for 2013, I'm going to tighten things up a little!
I am not painting myself in to a box with this. There is room for spontaneity. I just need something to help keep me on track and organized. That's just my personality. 🙂
