How Does Your Garden Grow?
Knock on wood, but I think Spring / Summer has finally arrived here in Kansas. Since I am feeling confident about that I decided to begin some of the outside work that needs to be done.
I have an area in back of my house where nothing but weeds grow. Depressing… So I decided to give the area a facelift. I did not take the before photo because it really was just too depressing. I have taken a photo of the area without any additional improvements save for the rock I now have in place. Much better…
It may not seem like much at the moment, but it is 100% better than the weeded mess that resided there before. Once this is finished, it’s on to the next spot clamoring for attention. Yup, it’s a mess too!

We recently got the first of our veggies planted. I am hoping the amount of rain we have had recently is an indication of how the summer will go. Last year was horrible for growing much of anything.
I am fearful of trying the veggies thing. I have a purple thumb for the most part. 🙂
You know ho I love to garden so it get into this kind of stuff. I just finished a path around my pond with a bench on the one side )(facebook post). It is one of my favorite spots now. 🙂

I just bought some fennel so that will probably get a new pot. It's looking a little small right now, but reading up on it, I am hoping to see it grow into something wonderful. 🙂 Good luck with your garden, Cheryl. Looks like a good start!
Hi Juli – I have had to do a lot cleanup before I could actually start anything. Lots of ideas. Need things that are hard to kill. Purple thumb here… LOL
I'm excited to be going back to my house in Idaho because I have a 6×3 raised garden bed. Over the years, my husband and I have grown all sorts of different things in it. I also have a 6×3 bed just for strawberries. It's hard telling what shape they will be in when we get back in July. Overall, I can only imagine all the work we will have to put into our years when we get back.
