‘Work’ With Your iPad
Attention all iPad users out there! Here is a question for you: Are you using your iPad as a ‘work’ machine? Do you do actual work with apps? For instance: There is a Word Press app for bloggers. Are you using it? What about writing in general… do you use an app like Pages? There are apps for creating illustrations, and apps for making music. Suffice it to say that there are apps for doing whatever ‘work’ it is you do.
Perhaps you use your iPad solely for entertainment purposes or online socializing. Do you watch movies on it? What about social? Do you use Facebook or Twitter on your iPad? Are you a reader? Obviously you are or you would not be reading this blog. Do you use your iPad as an e-reader? I use Kobo for reading. (However, I love my Kindle so it trumps the iPad for reading books.)
I use my iPad for almost everything. I can use Pages for writing and then export in a Word document format. I can create artwork / illustrations and email them to myself so I can edit them in apps I have on my MacBook Air. Between my iPad and my Air I have all the apps I need to do everything I want / need to do. My iPad definitely plays a major ‘work’ role for me.
I will have to say that with the exception of when first received my iPad I have never used the onboard camera. It’s not a convenient form factor. I have my phone with me everywhere I go so I use that camera. Is it as nice as my iPad camera? Most definitely not. But it is as close as reaching in to my pocket and that’s what counts. Photos on demand… Yes. I have a Droid currently. That may change when the new iPhone comes out later this year. That would save me a lot of work with photos. Having all my devices playing well together… priceless!
So what do you use for iPad for? Is it just a ‘luxury’ that you use occasionally? Do you use yours for something else I have not mentioned?

LOL… almost everything I do I can do on my iPad. I post and edit my blog using the WordPress app. I draw most all my illustrations. I watermark photo's before posting or sending. I keep up with my Social Media engagement, to name just a few. I also use Pages etc when needed. The list goes on and on. π
"Pages" grrrrr. I wound up using Google Docs for almost everything now. It's just so much easier than the convert and convert again routine. As for the iPad photos, it comes in handy when you don't have a tripod! I love the video feature – it's SO big. Between my iPad and iPhone, I don't even remember where I put my camera.
I don't own an ipad but have at times wondered if I would like one maybe I am just not sure………….
I will warn you that they are addictive… once you have one you will never be without one. π
Google Docs comes is handy especially if you use the iPad on the run and don't always sync. Something to keep in mind.
That's a very good point. Thank you. π
I have an ipad but it is more my husbands than mine. So I'm stuck using my laptop for most things. But I know it comes in handy for him at work.
It's probably safer that way. They are addictive. LOL π Once you really start using one you find you 'need' it.
