Otter Box Commuter iPhone 5 Case: Product Review

When Mobile Fun approached me asking if I would do a product review of the Otter Box Commuter iPhone 5 case if they sent me one I enthusiastically replied YES. These cases are known for their solid protection. One person said, ‘Bullet Proof’. No. They are not bullet proof, but that is a good descriptor for the Commuter case.

Allow me to give you the tour from unboxing to what it looks like on the phone.

It arrived in a well protected package.

Otter Box Case Pkge

The white area is a rubber material that sits in direct contact with the phone,

and the pink is a very sturdy plastic material. Dual layer coverage.

It came with all the usual accessories.

Screen protector and card to place it with along with the cleaning cloth and directions.

I must tell you that this case is not called the ‘commuter’ for nothing. It is solid. You would have to exert some real effort in order to cause harm to your phone if it is sporting this cover. Drop it and see what happens. Nothing happens. With two layers of protection it is well cared for. So if you are a commuter yourself and need a nice looking case that provides unyielding protection to your precious cargo (iPhone 5) then the Otter Box Commuter just might be the case for you.

I have been using this case for a week now and, yes, I dropped the phone (cringe). Nothing happened to it. Woo Hoo!!! This case really has become my trusted friend. Thank you Mobile Fun for allowing me to try this!

This looks like a really cool case, especially for a clutts like me. I'll check it out. :-)

It's a great case!
I love Otterbox. I have one for my iphone 4 . It's perfect.

People who have them really like them. I can see why. :)
And does it cost as much as the "protection plan"? Because that was my gripe with pretty much all iPhone cases.

The Case is Awesome, BUT...While the White and Pink are cute...the WHITE rubber doesn't stay white very long. Just from normal usage, and nothing seems to clean it either!! White was a huge mistake that I WILL NOT make again!
