“Handle them carefully, for words have more power than atom bombs.”
By Pearl Strachan Hurd
Wow… What a powerful quote to start the week with! It is SO true. So this week as we celebrate Valentines Day let’s not forget to take care with our words for the rest of the year as well. Let’s keep this happy bunny happy for the entire year.

Words can move mountains, cause wars, save lives and motivate someone to do good deeds. Yes indeed, they are one of our most powerful possessions and one we should not take lightly
Amen sister!
The words we use create our lives. Being vigilant to be cognizant of our language pays big dividends through life.
Love this quote so much! It's one I used to write on my classroom's whiteboard as a quote of the day.
Very cool… ๐
The pen is mightier than the sword. (had to be said.)
And you are just the right person to say it. ๐
Interesting you should post that today. I'm told that my words can sometimes be construed as combative. I shall have to make an attempt to be more passive.
Yeah, sometimes my words end up saying something I did not intend them to. Big sigh…
I could not agree more.
So true, Cheryl. Would we interact here is we had been telling each other to fxxx off?
Good point.
So true… the biggest problem is we throw out the meanest words at times we shouldn't! I just try to continue to follow the advice a good friend told me… say things in your head three times before you say them aloud!
Good idea!
Reminds me of words being mightier than the sword. Both are true and can have real real power to would or heal.
Agreed. ๐
While I'm a week late – this couldn't be more fitting! At our PTA meeting yesterday, it seemed the Principal got completely caught up in my use of the word "pressured." I must've hit a subliminal chord in him!
You are never too late my friend. ๐
Harsh words can hurt like a "thousand tiny cuts." You can never take them back.
Isn't it the truth?
