True, living an interesting life takes a lot of courage. Sometimes risking your life. But it's worth it. Cowards don't know what they are missing.
I was thinking more about those who do not want to take risks and try something new and different. They always want that safety net. It takes courage to venture out in to the unknown and not really know for sure what to expect. π
Holding on to the sight of the shore can keep us from some really great adventures, can't it?
Cheryl, I've had such a dreadful day (so much negative energy coming from various sources) I'm happy to read your motivational quote. I need to be motivated so that I can motivate others!
Well, believe it or not, you are one of the people who inspires me. π Thank you!
I totally almost used this quote the other day. It's definitely one to think about. I love Motivational Mondays. π
I love Motivational Mondays too! Puts me in the right mindset for the week.
"Lose sight of the shore." What a great way to persuade letting go of mama's apron strings.
I had not thought of that. You are right! π
Letting go of the familiar is difficult. So is letting go of past baggage. But if we don't let go, we cannot move on.
I think that is probably the most difficult thing – letting go of the familiar. We can't move on until we do.
What a brilliant quote for a Monday – any day actually. Change is hard, but it's going to happen one way or another. Best to be behind the tiller. Thanks so much Cheryl.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. π
I'll match that fine quote with one from Zora Neale Hurston: "Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board."
Absolutely! π
Great quote! I am in the process of moving to the other side of the world and this quote gave me a little bit of courage because it is hard to leave everything behind and start a new life.
Wow… then I guess this quote is good timing for you. I wish you all the best.
