Motivational Monday: Letter To Younger Self
Motivational Monday: Letter To Younger Self
Change of pace for this week…
Do you ever find yourself thinking, “If I had only known that when I was younger, I would have made a different choice.”? Where would I be today if I had made that different choice? Would you tell your younger self “Get out more. Socialize more.”? Maybe you are not an introvert like me so you might be saying, “I will take more time for myself and do less socializing.” Maybe you would tell yourself to see the world while you are young.
If you were able to give your younger self advice, what would you say to yourself? That’s your question for the week. Happy Monday!

That letter would be all about making wiser career choices 😉 But that it's not productive to spend too much time heaped in regret. Always move forward…
This was meant to be more of a fun exercise than thinking about regrets. 🙂 But I hear you…
Go for it. Don't hold back because someone said I'm not capable. That's what I would say. The good news is I am not unhappy with my life. It just turned out differently then I had imagined. It's not good or bad, just different. 🙂
Susan- As an outsider looking in I think you and your life turned out great! I am so blessed to know you my friend. 🙂
I do too. It's funny how things really turn out for the best. I feel the same about you. 🙂
Ooh I like this concept Cheryl, though I think that my younger self wouldn't have listened . I was always of a mind at anything was possible, which is not to say I haven't made loads of mistakes. I think that's the biggest lesson is to try and learn from them and not repeat them. Maybe believe in yourself too.
Believe in yourself would be one of mine.
I have always looked back on my life as regarded it as a learning lesson. I think if I went back and changed things, would I still be where I am now. I have a loving husband and wonderful children. Would I have that if I chose a different path?
All very good points. But it can be fun to think about what would be today if only I had ___ back then.
I think there are some things I certainly could've done a lot better, but as others have said, you never realize the significance of lessons you've learned. If I never went into debt, I probably wouldn't have such a dislike for it… which might put me into debt!
Dan – I truly believe you are who you are today because you went through all the bad stuff so you could help make people like me better money managers. 🙂
