Motivational Monday Quote for July 23

By

It’s Monday again and I decided to give us something to think about today.

Motivational Monday Quote

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become.

Everything else is secondary.”

  1. I've seen this quote before , but it can't be said too many times, as it's so true. Life's too short. Great Monday morning motivator.

  2. Susan Cooper says:

I have watched the speech he did a few years back many times where this was part of the content. It is a speech I revisit to remind myself that I am in charge of me and no one else. Great start to my week. 🙂

    • Geek Girl says:

Sometimes we all need a reminder of who is really in charge. I love that part of the speech. 🙂

  3. Adeline says:

This is actually my favorite part from his Stanford speech! Thanks so much for sharing this. I agree with Susan. This quote is definitely a great way to start the week.

    • Geek Girl says:

I knew it was well known, but it just felt right to start this week with. 🙂

  4. Lubna says:

This seems so apt for me. I've followed my heart and intuition and just changed my career.

  5. Leora says:

Someone recently posted an article about the goodness of procrastination – in adding those thoughts to this quote, I would suggest sometimes one needs to procrastinate just to discover one's own heart and intuition.

    • Geek Girl says:

I could not agree with you more. Procrastination can sometimes bring clarity. Thanks for pointing that out. 🙂

  6. namirusso says:

I want to become rich and famous. It's the money and the talent part I have problems with…ha, ha! Gotta love that Steve Jobs. Well, I love my Mac products, anyway. But his quote vaguely resembles the "Do what thou wilt – and no other shall say nay." If you're wondering, it's not Shakespeare or Thor, it's Mr. Crowley. Good rendition, nonetheless.

    • Geek Girl says:

Rich… maybe. Famous… not sure about that. The point is to become who you want to be instead of who others think you should be. 🙂 it certainly does provide food for thought.

  7. Susan Oakes says:

Great quote and it reminds me life can be what you make of it. Some embrace it living each day to the fullest others waste it by worrying what might happen and never get to enjoy each day.

    • Geek Girl says:

I could not agree more. 🙂

  8. projectwhitespace says:

Good one! Steve Jobs is pretty smart. I'm thinking we can trust him on this. 🙂

    • Geek Girl says:

Yeah, he was pretty smart about some things. 🙂

  9. Jo-Anne says:

This is a great quote I have seen it before and each time I see it I love it…………

  10. Patricia Weber says:

I'm a BIG fan of Jobs: been a Mac user and almost EVERYTHING "i" since 1984.

This reminds me of a quote I just used in my blog: Oscar Wilde, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.”

  11. Adrienne says:

I love quotes Cheryl so even if I've read them hundreds of times, they never get old. Sometimes that particular quote you read this very day was exactly the reminder you needed.

    Thanks for sharing this one.

    ~Adrienne

  12. Adrienne says:

This is the sort of sentiment that you can feel is pure truth the minute you read it, even though it may have been hidden within you. Covered with other people's ideals, of course!

    • Geek Girl says:

Every action starts with a thought. Change your thoughts and you change the world. Makes sense, doesn't it? 🙂
