Boy isn't that the truth. "But" is a serious hold back word. 🙂

    • Geek Girl says:

Those 'buts' have a tendency to cause havoc. 🙂

  2. JeriWB says:

I think I've finally used up all of my buts and I'm ready to focus on what lies ahead, even if it really overwhelms me to be re-thinking most of what I'm doing with my life when most others are feeling pretty settled.

  3. Geek Girl says:

I can totally relate to what you are saying. I am finished with buts and moving forward. Better late then never is what I say. 🙂

  4. Susan Oakes says:

I was once told to replace"but" with "and". It changes your perspective and does help to move forward.

  5. Good one, Cheryl! We do tend to make excuses, a d then they sure hold us back, don't they? I'm hoping that after my brother leaves tomorrow (He was here for the Thanksgiving weekend) I'll dig in my heels and get back to writing my book. No more excuses!

    • Geek Girl says:

Sounds like that visit was a really good excuse for a break, though. 🙂

  6. Geek Girl says:

Interesting… I have to think about that one.

  7. keepupweb says:

I'll have to keep this in mind Cheryl. "Buts" definitely just lead to excuses!

  8. Geek Girl says:

    Agree. 'Buts' are not good…

  9. namirusso says:

Oh, there are plenty of those said in our house. Of course, they mean the two "t" variety BUT who's counting? Ha, ha. But seriously, it's a very good quote. But I could go on all day…

  10. The buts are just another word for procrastination. We put off the tough things and do the easy things like read out email.

  11. Geek Girl says:

Guilty as charged. However, I am trying to change that.

  12. projectwhitespace says:

so true, so true! Too bad I have a big butt.
    JkJK!!

    • Geek Girl says:

I very seriously doubt that. LOL
