Excerpt:

You are about to enter a world where all things are possible despite what people will tell you. Your father knows this although how much he actually puts this notion in to practice is unknown to me. My hope is that you will never lose that idea because if you embrace it you will go far and accomplish much.

Children are born with abilities that soon fall by the way side when adults tell them they can’t do something. For instance: A child takes his little red wagon for a walk. He is not pulling the wagon by the handle. He is just making the wagon follow him. An adult sees what he is doing and tells him he cannot do that. It’s not possible. The child believes what he is told and from that point forward he must use the handle to take that wagon for a walk. Think about the concept and then realize how much sense it makes.

You can go far in this world if you believe in yourself despite what others may think or say.

Love the wagon metaphor. Years ago, when my son was about three, a neighbor and I were watching him pull a wagon around the circle we lived on. The wheels were not big enough to roll it up over the curb. My neighbor remarked, "I wonder what he's going to do when he gets it over here?" We both laughed when my very strong son simply picked it up and put it on the curb.

Imagine what we could do if we ignored everyone who said we couldn't.

This reminds me of how I used to walk around the house as a kid as I held a mirror in my hands that faced the ceiling. My mom and dad would just laugh and when I told them I was walking on the ceiling, but they never told me it was impossible since I had indeed found a way to make walking on the ceiling work 😉
