#Garden Compass: App Review Update

I wanted to provide an update on this app based on my personal experience.

Garden Compass

Just to recap:

This app allows you to send a photo of a plant you would like identified, or a problem you are having with a plant – like an insect or disease issue – and get a response typically within 24 hours.

I uploaded a photo of a plant with an issue.

Plant Issue

This is the response I received along with the photo I uploaded.

Response

Notice that it tells me what number I am in the queue and how many submissions I have left for the current month. You are limited to 20 per month.

The next day I received a response to my submission. Yes. The next day!

Answer

When you click on the link it takes you to the answer and suggestions for addressing the issue.

I would say that I am pleasantly surprised with this app. It really does do what it says it does and quickly. And it’s FREE!

Have you tried this app yet? What did you think of it?

This is pretty cool! I don't garden anymore as I live in a high-rise condo, but I spent many years loving it! This sure would have come in handy back in the day. I think I had 30 or 40 books on gardening when I moved! Most of them I bought as I was trying to diagnose a problem.

I hear you. Today will live in the age of apps. This one is pretty cool.

  2. That is a pretty good response time for a free app. So, what was the problem?

    • Cheryl says:

They said it was either snails or slugs. I would need to look for them in the evening on the under side of the leaves.

Wow! How awesome is THAT! And that is terrific response time as Jon said, with a free app. I'm going to try with some pics of plants on our Costa Rica.

    • Cheryl says:

I would be interested to know how it works for you.

It's good to see the app works so well. I'll be downloading it sometime today 🙂

  5. This sounds like a great app especially if you don't know if a plant is poisonous or not.

That is awesome. I love that you can send them a picture of the problem and get such a quick response. Definitely a great app to have!

  7. That's cool! Don't have a garden but if I had I would definitely get that app.
