A Is For… Perspective

A Is For… Perspective. No? OK Maybe not. But it did manage to get your attention.

Doesn’t this picture make you stop and do a double-take? Seems to me that many things are a matter of perspective.

I have been following a blog called Searching for the Happiness. Many of you may be familiar with it. Wendy has been in process of moving her blog. During this process she has called attention to some pretty cool tools. One of them I have now added to both my blogs. It is a Word Press plugin called Free Stock Photos Foter. It adds a button when you are writing a post that brings up a huge database of free photos you can use. When you insert them all credits are already done so you don’t have to do it manually. That’s how I added that photo here. I did not have to do anything but choose and insert. This is such a huge time saver.

I am not a photographer and photos are a real challenge for me. This tool will help me considerably. I still plan to take and share my own photos, but I also plan to take advantage of the new tool.

This brings me back to the subject of perspective. If taking great photos is a challenge for you, why not take advantage of a tool that addresses that challenge? Some might consider using a tool like this as a smart move. Others may take a different view and decide they have to become better photographers. They would never consider using a tool like this. As for me, I am in the middle. I will use this tool for many of my blog post needs. I will also take a long-term approach to work on my photographic skills so I can take a decent photo. While we are waiting for me to improve my photography Free Stock Photos Foter will get a workout.

Do you have any favorite tools or Word Press plugins that help you with your blog? Share them with us in the comments.

I've mainly been rely on publicdomainpictures.net when I need a quick picture, and thank goodness book covers can be used under fair use guidelines! I'll definitely check-out the plug-in you mention above. I recently switched to Yoast's WordPress SEO plug-in and really like it. Another recent addition I like is nrelate Related content along with the related flyout that shows viewers related posts. Tweet Old Post is another must-have for me. I also use WP Smush,it to further compress my imaes, but it's finicky and stops working from time to time. I downloaded TinyMCE Advanced months ago, and have slowly been getting the hang of all it can do. For instance, it is what I use to add the sign-off area at the end of each of my posts.

Great topic. It will be fun to see what people share. I had thought of doing this as a post at some point, so time will tell now… 🙂

Any plugin that can aide someone in producing a visual is a very good thing. I follow Wendy also and saw her suggestion. It is an awesome tool.

Yeah, I like plugins and awesome tools and apps and… OK I will stop now. LOL

  3. My plugins are limited. But I have a great photo resource (my wife). There have been a few occasions recently when I have looked for royalty free images.
